When I found out my wife was pregnant, I was hit with a wave of emotion. Was I ready to become a father? What about my business? a dozen other anxiety-filled questions hit me in succession. Now, 9 months later, as I sit by my 7 day old son, the beauty of fatherhood has become apparent. Seeing my son open his eyes for the first time, feeling his trust, everything has truly changed.
Mystery MTG is everything we could have ever wanted it to be. We're nearly a WPN premium, we've sent out over 60,000 orders, and we've stood alongside our pack-opening family for over half a decade. I know many of you by name, and will continue to engage with the community we've so tirelessly built until I can no longer physically do so.
But..it's time we give back. The love for my son extends beyond my own family, and I want to touch the lives of others. Those who don't have a father, those who can't afford to enjoy comforts or luxuries like TCGs, and those who opt into less favorable paths because they aren't given a choice.
I'm starting Cards for Youth [www.cardsforyouth.org].
It's a service where we send our care packages filled with sealed Starter Decks, Singles, and instructional pamphlets for the onboarded teachers to help run after-school Magic The Gathering, Pokemon, and Lorcana programs. We will aim at providing Magic The Gathering to High Schools, and Lorcana to Elementary Schools in the United States. This will be out of our own pocket, and we are currently designing the crates and testing the programs with local schools.
