Reviewing the physical product

I’m basing this review on the practical contents of the box, not on gameplay (I’ve not played it yet), or on value of what I pulled (I’m writing this on release day; I’ve only opened the evidence cards and the box topper).

The first question I had was, can I sleeve the evidence cards and still have them fit in the envelope the suspect, weapon, and location cards are to be placed in during setup. I am pleased to report that, while a snug fit, you can place single sleeved cards in the envelope (I used Batman Dragon Shield sleeves). You can also fit all 21 evidence cards in the section of the box set aside for them when they’re single sleeved.

The next thought I had was, “I want to put the contents of the boosters in Dragon Shield cube shells, for later random pack selection. Will 8 shells fit?” To this, I have been able to squeeze the 8 empty shells in, though not with the card dividers the bundle included slotted into place. This is a very tight squeeze, though it might work better if you leave the cardboard section for the evidence cards out.

The main criticism I have of the physical product is, there doesn’t seem to be a good way to store writing utensils in the box with the rest of the game pieces. Other than that, it seems a practical package for the game. I look forward to playing it with my pod!
